Jobs & the Economy
As a successful small business owner and entrepreneur, Danielle knows firsthand what it takes to live within a budget, make payroll and successfully grow a business. She also believes that the city of Aurora is losing a lot of revenue and jobs to neighboring cities. With a focus on helping businesses thrive, Danielle will bring a fresh perspective to the Aurora City Council that puts people over politics and expands opportunities for all Aurora families – without raising taxes.
"I believe that we should work to build our communities. We should have more options, more stores at our Aurora mall and Southlands Mall. We are losing all of those jobs and city revenue to the likes of Park Meadows and other shopping plazas. Covid has hit our community hard and we will have to rebuild and fill the vacant storefronts in our community. A big help will be for Aurora to become more business-friendly and I intend to fight for that!”
Public Safety
A top priority for Danielle is fighting for a stronger, safer Aurora while bridging the gap between the citizens and law enforcement. Danielle is a veteran, former military police officer, and Aurora native who is deeply invested in our community. Her background makes her uniquely qualified to help rebuild mutual respect and trust between law enforcement and our diverse community, so together we can move toward a safer and brighter future.
“I love seeing my son play on many of the same streets that I played on as a child, but things are different now. We used to play outside for hours, ride our bikes all over the place and always felt safe. One of my top priorities will be to work to ensure safer streets and safer schools for all Aurora families. I also understand that citizens feel they are not being listened to, and I want to bring those tough conversations to the table.”
Taxes & Fees
Danielle isn’t a politician, she’s a job creator and a single mom who works hard to live within her family budget and believes the government should do the same. She will fight against harmful tax and fee increases that raise the cost of living. Danielle will stand up for Aurora families and businesses who face a competitive disadvantage because taxes and fees within Aurora are higher than in surrounding communities.
“As a single mom and businesswoman, I know firsthand how harmful tax and fee increases can eat away at a business, and how failed government budgets can eat away a tight family budget. I will fight back against any increases that take more money away from hard-working Aurora families. I will also fight to lower existing taxes and fees.”
Revitalizing Neighborhoods
Investing in ALL Aurora communities will be a top priority for Danielle. Local residents know what's best for their neighborhood and unlike politicians, Danielle will listen to those needs. She is committed to enhancing local community pride, beauty and opportunity, through investments, programs, and policies that support our neighborhoods and put citizens first.
“Being an Aurora Native my pride for our city is second to none! I believe in my hometown and the opportunity here. It doesn't matter where you come from or how much money you have. I believe Aurora is where you have a chance to live out the American dream and I will fight to ensure equal opportunity for all!”
